Speed, Distance & Time Calculator

Choose what you want to find, fill in the other two values and get the answer in the units you prefer.

The formulas

speed = distance ÷ time · distance = speed × time · time = distance ÷ speed. Keep the units consistent: 60 mph for 2.5 hours is 150 miles. This calculator converts the units for you, so you can mix miles with minutes or kilometres with knots.

Results are averages over the whole journey. Real trips include stops, traffic and changes of speed, so the average speed you drive is usually lower than the speed on the sign.
