Bill Splitter

Split a restaurant bill or shared costs fairly — equally, or item by item — with tip included and a simple settle-up.

How the split is worked out

Equally: the bill plus tip is divided by the number of people. Amounts are worked out in pence, so if it does not divide exactly, a few people pay one penny more and the total always matches the bill.

By item: tick who shared each item. Shared items are split between the people who ticked them, and the tip is added in proportion to what each person had. If you say who paid, the tool shows the fewest payments needed so everyone is square. In the UK a discretionary service charge of 10–12.5% is common; check whether it is already on the bill before adding a tip.
