Forex Expert Advisors

74 Expert Advisors for MetaTrader 5, covering trading strategies, account protection, a market assistant, trade copying and data tools.

The full directory, with a page for each Expert Advisor (how it works, every setting explained in plain language, history and risks), is being prepared and will appear here.

Every Expert Advisor needs a DRF Key, with a 7-day free trial. The free Forex Trading Tools are already available, and so is the DRF Signal. Need one built, repaired or converted? See creating, repairing and converting an Expert Advisor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is MetaTrader 5?
MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a trading platform. All DRF Expert Advisors are written for MT5 and the MQL5 language.
What is an Expert Advisor, and how is it different from an indicator?
An Expert Advisor (EA) is a program that runs inside MetaTrader and can open, manage and close trades by fixed rules. An indicator only draws information on the chart. An EA can be built to react to an indicator.
Which Expert Advisors are there?
There are trading strategies, account protection tools (Risk Management and Equity Management), a Market Assistant that watches the market and alerts you, a signal copier, and data tools that feed the live pages of this site. Each will have its own page in the Expert Advisors directory, with a plain-language manual.
Do the Expert Advisors make money?
I cannot promise that, and nobody honestly can. An EA carries out its rules exactly; it does not make the rules right for every market. Some of my Expert Advisors lost money when used live, and I say so on their pages. Read the Risk Disclosure and test on a demo account first.
Can I use them on any symbol?
They are written to run on any forex symbol, and none is tied to one instrument. Each was designed and tested on only a few symbols, so test the one you choose on a demo account before you use real money. Spreads, contract sizes and trading hours differ between symbols and between brokers.
Where can I practise without risking money?
Open a demo account with your broker and run the Expert Advisor there first. Every DRF Expert Advisor page asks you to do this.
Do I need a key to use them?
Yes. Every DRF Expert Advisor needs a DRF Key, including the data tools. See the DRF Key page for the plans and the 7-day free trial.
Why do the Expert Advisors need WebRequest?
They check your key over the internet and read the live data files of this site. In MetaTrader 5 open Tools, Options, Expert Advisors, tick "Allow WebRequest for listed URL" and add https://sync.donaldsonrf.com to the list. Also tick "Allow Algo Trading" in the Common tab of the Expert Advisor.
Do I need a VPS?
An Expert Advisor only works while the terminal is open and running. Most people rent a Windows VPS so that it stays online all day without depending on a home computer. Installing an Expert Advisor on a VPS is one of the services on this site.
What does the Risk Management EA do?
It limits your daily and session loss and can optionally restrict trading hours. It can also remove other Expert Advisors from their charts when a limit is reached, if you switch that option on.
Does the Signal Copier close my trades?
Its safety checks apply to new copies only and never close a position that is already open. The loss limit only stops new copies.
What are the Signal Copier safety checks?
Merging same-direction orders opened within a short window, a hedge block, agreement with the market bias read by the data tools, a pause during high-impact news, a pause while the market is closed, and optional daily and total loss limits. Each can be switched on or off.
Can you build, repair or convert an Expert Advisor for me?
Yes. I create Expert Advisors from your written rules, repair broken ones, convert MetaTrader 4 robots to MetaTrader 5, and test robots. Each is a fixed-price service with its own page.
