About shoe sizes
UK sizes count in barleycorns (one third of an inch) from a fixed starting point, so they follow the length of the shoe's last. EU sizes use Paris points (two thirds of a centimetre). US sizes are one size higher than UK for men's and two higher for women's. This tool works from those standard scales, so the results are close but only a guide: every brand cuts its own sizes, and width matters too.
For the most accurate result, measure your foot standing on a sheet of paper from heel to longest toe, do it late in the day when feet are largest, and check the brand's own size chart before you buy online.
