UK Dividend Tax Calculator

See how much tax is due on dividend income for 2026/27, once your £500 dividend allowance is used up.

An estimate, not tax advice. Dividends are taxed on top of your other income, so this tool needs your other taxable income (after the Personal Allowance) too, to work out which band(s) the dividend falls into. Figures are the 2026/27 rates on GOV.UK (checked 7 October 2026).

How dividend tax works

The first £500 of dividend income each year is tax-free (the dividend allowance). Above that, dividends are taxed at 10.75% in the basic rate band, 35.75% in the higher rate band, and 39.35% in the additional rate band — worked out by stacking your dividends on top of your other income.
