XML Formatter & Validator

Check that your XML is well-formed, find the line of any error, and pretty-print or minify it.

What “well-formed” means

This tool checks that the XML is well-formed: exactly one root element, every tag closed and correctly nested, attribute values quoted, and special characters such as & and < escaped. It does not validate against a DTD or XSD schema. Pretty-printing keeps comments, CDATA sections, processing instructions and the XML declaration; text inside elements is left exactly as written, and elements that mix text with child tags are kept on one line so their meaning does not change. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
