Remove Line Breaks

Paste text with unwanted line breaks — from a PDF, an email or a narrow column — and get it back as clean, continuous text.

When to use it

Text copied from a PDF, a scanned document or an email often has a line break at the end of every visual line, which breaks sentences in the wrong places. This tool joins the lines back together. Turn on Keep paragraph breaks if blank lines separate real paragraphs, so only the breaks inside each paragraph are removed.

The hyphen option joins words that were split across two lines (“inter-” and “national” become “international”). Use it with care: a real hyphen at the end of a line, as in “well-” and “known”, would also be joined. Everything happens in your browser — your text is never uploaded.
