Install MetaTrader 5 on Windows VPS
Get MetaTrader 5 installed and properly configured on your Windows VPS.
The Problem
Installing MT5 itself is simple, but getting it logged in reliably, configured for your broker, and set to actually stay connected on a VPS takes a bit more care than a desktop install.
About this problem
MetaTrader 5 installs the same way on a VPS as on a desktop, but a VPS runs without anyone watching it. If the saved login, server selection or Algo Trading settings are not stored correctly, the platform can sit at a login prompt or show a disconnected status after a restart without anyone noticing.
People typically come to this when moving from a home PC to a VPS, after a first VPS install that never stayed connected, or when a broker's platform needs specific server details that are easy to get wrong on the first attempt.
What's Included
- Installing MT5 and connecting it to your broker account
- Configuring chart/workspace settings as you specify
- Setting connection and auto-login options for unattended operation
- Confirming it stays connected and functional after a VPS restart
What's NOT Included
- Broker account opening or funding — that's between you and your broker
- Installing or configuring Expert Advisors (see the EA installation service)
- Trading strategy or platform usage advice
How It Works
- I download MetaTrader 5 from your broker's official source and install it on the VPS.
- I log in with the account details you supply and confirm the correct broker server is selected and the connection shows as live.
- I set the saved-password and auto-login options so the terminal reconnects without manual input.
- I arrange charts, templates and workspace layout as you specify and save the profile.
- I check the Algo Trading and connection options in the terminal settings that matter for unattended running.
- I restart the VPS and confirm the platform opens and reconnects to your account afterwards.
In practice: you buy the service, send over whatever access or details the job needs, I investigate and do the work, and you confirm it's resolved before we call it done.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I install MT5 on a Windows VPS?
- Download the installer from your broker, run it, then log in with your account details. I handle that and also set the options that make it reconnect without you.
- Will MT5 start automatically when the VPS reboots?
- Saving the login makes it reconnect, but launching the program itself on boot is a separate setup covered by the auto-restart service. I confirm what happens after a restart as part of this job.
- Do you open or fund the broker account?
- No. You need an existing account with login details from your broker. Opening and funding is between you and the broker.
- Can you install my Expert Advisor too?
- That is a separate service, the EA installation. This one covers the platform and its connection only.
- Which broker platforms does this cover?
- It covers MetaTrader 5 as supplied by your broker. If your broker uses a different platform, tell me first so I can say whether I can help.
- Do you need my account password?
- Logging in requires the credentials, which you supply. Use an investor password for simply testing the connection if you prefer, though unattended trading needs the full login.
