Image Colour Extractor

Get the main colours from any picture as a ready-to-use palette, or click on the image to pick the exact colour of a pixel.

Your image never leaves your computer. The colours are worked out inside your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored.

Click to choose an image or drag and drop it here (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG…)

How the palette is chosen

The image is shrunk, then its pixels are grouped into the number of colours you ask for using the median cut method: the colours are split repeatedly along the channel where they vary most, and each group is averaged into one representative colour. The percentage shows how much of the image each colour covers. Transparent pixels are ignored.

Use the palette for a website or design that matches a photo or logo. HEX is the format used in CSS (#3aa9ff); RGB and HSL are given too. To pick one exact pixel instead, click the image.
