Who I am and how I can help
I'm Donaldson, an IT technician and freelancer. For years I've helped shops, practices and small businesses get online, and I noticed that people who just graduated, just got qualified, or just registered as self-employed struggle to find a simple, honest service at a fair price to get started. That's why I created packages designed exactly for people starting from zero: domain, website and email, all handled by me, without bouncing between different providers who blame each other.
For Pavia I also work in person: I come to your home, your office, or we simply meet at a café with a laptop to decide colours, text and site structure together. It's a quick way to get started right away, and often one meeting is enough. If you're not in Pavia, no problem: we organise everything remotely, on WhatsApp or video call, with the same care.
Why it pays to start off right
Many newly self-employed professionals start with free or DIY solutions that, in the long run, cost more time than money: domains tied to third-party platforms, unprofessional email addresses, slow sites that Google struggles to rank. Your own domain, a fast site and an email with your name immediately give a serious image to anyone looking for you online, and they stay yours even if you change provider in the future.
Domain, hosting and email: what they actually mean
These are terms you hear often but rarely have explained properly. Here's what's included in the service, in plain words.
- The domain
It's your unique address on the internet, for example www.yourname.it. I register it in your name and it stays your property: it needs renewing once a year, like renting the sign people use to find you.
- Hosting
It's the space on a server where all your site's files are stored, so anyone typing your address can see it online 24 hours a day. Without hosting, the site only exists on your computer: nobody can visit it. That's why you pay a fee, monthly or yearly, to keep it always on and reachable.
- Professional email
Instead of writing from a generic address, you'll have a mailbox with your name, like name@yourdomain.it. I can set it up directly on the site's hosting, or connect it to your iCloud if you'd rather keep using Apple Mail with your custom domain.

To build sites I use Impreza, one of the most widely used WordPress themes in the world, with dozens of ready-made templates designed for different professions: law firms, medical and healthcare, consulting and business, photography, personal services and much more. You tell me what you do, and together we choose the starting point best suited to your field, then customise it with your content, photos and colours.

I find out what you do so we can choose the most suitable theme together from the available templates.
- 3.We register the domain
We check the availability of the name you want and I register it in your name right away.
- 4.Building the site
I build the site with your content, photos and text, on the structure we chose together.
- 5.Email activation
I set up your professional mailbox, either on the hosting or connected to your iCloud.
- 6.Site goes live
We publish everything together and I show you in two minutes how to handle any small requests yourself.
Frequently asked questions
- What is hosting and why do I have to pay for it monthly or yearly?
- Hosting is the server space that keeps your site on and reachable 24 hours a day. It's an ongoing service, not a one-off purchase: that's why you pay a recurring fee, a bit like renting the space where your site "lives".
- Does the domain stay mine or yours?
- The domain is registered in your name from day one. Even if you decide not to work with me anymore in the future, the domain remains your property and you can take it wherever you want.
- How much does the yearly domain and hosting renewal cost?
- It depends on the domain extension you choose (.it.com, etc.) and the active hosting package. I'll tell you clearly from the initial quote, so there are no surprises at renewal.
- Can I choose the theme based on my profession?
- Yes. I use Impreza, a theme with dozens of templates already designed for different fields: legal, medical, consulting, photography, personal services and more. We start from the template closest to your profession and customise it together.
- What's the difference between the Simple Site and the Site with Support?
- The Simple Site is a static HTML site: very fast, great for getting started and being found on Google, but to change it you need to request my help each time. The Site with Support, on the other hand, is a dynamic site that already includes the most common updates in the monthly fee: changing prices, photos and content, with no extra cost each time.
- What happens if I want to change photos or text after the site is live?
- With the "Site with Support" and "Site + SEO" packages, these changes are already included in the monthly fee: you message me on WhatsApp with what you want changed and I take care of it. With the Simple Site, changes are quoted individually based on the time required.
- Will my email be name@mydomain.it?
- Yes, exactly. I set up the mailbox with your custom domain, so your communications look professional at first glance.
- Can I use my iCloud email with a custom domain?
- Yes, if you have an iCloud+ subscription I can connect your domain directly there, so you keep using the Apple Mail app you already know, but with an address with your name instead of @icloud.com.
- Do you also offer SEO ranking?
- Yes, it's included in the "Site + SEO" package. I handle ongoing site optimisation, monitor how it ranks on Google for searches related to your profession, and give you regular advice on what to add to improve.
- How long does it take to get the site online?
- For the Simple Site, usually a few days from when I receive your content. For packages with a custom theme, timing is slightly longer, but I always give you a clear estimate from the first contact.
- Do you work outside Pavia too?
- Yes. Pavia is my base for in-person meetings, but the whole service can easily be handled remotely, via WhatsApp and video call, with anyone not in the area.
- Can we meet in person just for a coffee?
- Of course. If you'd rather not have me at your home or office, we simply meet at a café with a laptop: it's convenient, quick, and one meeting is often enough to set everything up.
- I've just qualified and don't have clients yet: does it make sense to start with a site already?
- Actually, it's the best time. A site and professional email give you credibility from the first contacts, and Google takes time to index a new site: the sooner you start, the sooner you'll be found when your first clients search for you.
- Can I move from a simpler package to a more complete one later?
- Yes, at any time. Many people start with the Simple Site to keep initial costs down and later move to the Site with Support or Site + SEO as their practice grows.
- What happens if I stop paying the monthly fee?
- The domain stays yours. The site and hosting linked to the monthly package are suspended, but I always warn you in advance before any interruption, so you have time to decide how to proceed.
- Does the site work well on smartphones too?
- Yes, all the sites I build are responsive, meaning they automatically adapt to smartphones, tablets and computers, because today most people will find you right from their phone.
- Are you a freelancer with a Partita IVA (VAT number)?
- Yes, I operate as a freelancer with a Partita IVA dedicated exactly to this kind of work. I'm not an agency with several people involved: you always deal with me, from the first message to the site going live.
