MP3 Cutter & Audio Trimmer

Open a song, podcast or recording, drag on the waveform to choose the part you want, listen to it, then save just that part — or cut it out.

Your files never leave your device. The sound is processed in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Limit: . Large or long recordings need a lot of memory and can be slow on older phones.

How to cut audio

Drag across the waveform to mark the part you want. The bright part is the selection; the dim parts are outside it. Fine-tune the start and end by dragging the green handles or typing times like 1:23.5, press Play selection to listen, then choose whether to keep the selection (a ringtone, a clip from a podcast) or delete it (remove a mistake or an advert from the middle) and save.

The file is opened with your browser’s own decoder and the result is encoded again, so saving as MP3 is a new lossy encoding — choose 192 kbps or higher for music, or WAV for a lossless copy. The output uses a 44.1 kHz sound; recordings longer than the limit above must be cut into shorter parts first. To join clips together afterwards, see join audio files; to fade the ends, use fade in / fade out.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with MP3 files only?

No: any audio your browser can play (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC, AAC, Opus) can be opened. The result is saved as MP3 or WAV.

Will quality get worse?

Saving as WAV loses nothing. MP3 is re-encoded, which is very slightly lossy; use a high bitrate to keep it transparent.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The audio is decoded, cut and encoded inside your browser.
