Create a Custom Expert Advisor (MQL5)
Your trading rules written as a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor in MQL5, tested on a demo account before delivery.
The Problem
You have a trading method that you apply by hand, and you want it to run without you watching the screen: entering, managing and closing trades by the same rules every time. Developers who take the money and hand back code you cannot trust are a common complaint, so you want it written by someone who trades.
About this problem
An Expert Advisor, or EA, is a program that runs inside MetaTrader 5 and can open, manage and close positions by rules you define. An indicator only draws information on the chart; an EA can be built to react to one.
The price on this page is for a standard case: one strategy on one symbol, with entry and exit conditions that can be written down in plain sentences, standard risk controls (fixed lot or a percentage of the account, stop loss and take profit) and no more than about five conditions in all. If your idea is larger, for example several timeframes, a dashboard or a grid, I tell you before any extra chargeable work.
What's Included
- A technical feasibility review of your written rules before anything is agreed, so you know it can be coded exactly as described
- A new MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor written in MQL5 for one strategy: your entry and exit rules, stop loss, take profit and the risk controls you specify
- Original code written from scratch, with inputs named in plain language
- Testing on a demo account against live data to check every rule and alert before delivery
- Delivery of the compiled file, by email or secure download link, with instructions to install it in the MetaTrader terminal folder
- A 7-day window after delivery with up to 3 corrections for genuine bugs, meaning cases where the code does not do what was agreed
What's NOT Included
- Source code, unless we agree it in writing before the work starts (the compiled file is the default)
- Changing the rules after coding has started. New rules are a separate order, because mid-build changes tend to break the structure
- Strategies that cannot be written as precise, testable rules (for example 'trade when it feels right')
- Hosting or VPS setup (see the services for installing an Expert Advisor on a VPS)
- Any promise of profit, of a particular return or of a limit on loss. An Expert Advisor carries out your rules exactly; whether the rules make money is down to the strategy and the market.
- Decompiling, copying or reverse engineering anybody else's robot. I write original code from rules you can document, or I work on code you have the right to give me.
How It Works
- You send your strategy as text: entry rules, exit rules, indicators and their settings, risk rules. Text is deliberate, because it keeps every rule on record and avoids misunderstandings.
- I check that the logic can be translated into MQL5 with full precision and tell you what, if anything, is unclear or cannot be coded as described.
- Once the rules are locked in, I write the Expert Advisor from scratch and compile it.
- I run it on a demo account against live market data and check each execution rule and alert.
- I send you the compiled file with installation instructions. From that day you have 7 days and up to 3 corrections for genuine bugs.
In practice: you buy the service, send over whatever access or details the job needs, I investigate and do the work, and you confirm it's resolved before we call it done.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I need to know how to code?
- No. Describe your rules in plain English. If you can explain your method to another trader, you can explain it to me.
- Can you tell me whether my strategy is profitable?
- No. I review strategies for technical feasibility, not for market profitability. That judgement stays with you.
- Will the Expert Advisor guarantee me profits?
- No developer honestly can. An EA makes sure your exact rules are carried out with no emotion. The strategy and the market remain your responsibility.
- Do I get the source code?
- The compiled file is the default. If you want the editable source, say so before work starts and we agree it in writing.
- Can I add features during the 7-day window?
- No. The window is for fixing genuine bugs, not for redesign. New functions or changed logic are a separate order.
- What if you cannot build it?
- If after the review I cannot write your idea as described, you get a full refund and I explain exactly why. If you change your mind before I start writing code, your payment goes back too.
- Do you keep my strategy confidential?
- Yes. Your logic is never shared, reused or resold. If you want a written non-disclosure agreement, ask before you send the details.
- Do I need a VPS?
- MetaTrader 5 has to be open and running for the robot to trade. Most people rent a VPS so the terminal stays online all day. Installing on a VPS is a separate service.
- Can you build for MetaTrader 4 or cTrader?
- New work is for MetaTrader 5 and MQL5 only. If you have an MT4 robot, the conversion service moves it to MT5.
