Learning the times tables

In England children are expected to know all the multiplication tables up to 12 × 12 by the end of Year 4 (the national Multiplication Tables Check is taken in June of Year 4). Short, frequent practice works better than one long session: start with the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, then build up to 3, 4 and 8, and leave 6, 7, 9, 11 and 12 until later.

Use the chart to look up facts, the worksheets for written practice (missing-number and division questions build understanding of the inverse), and the quiz for quick recall.
