What this score means — and does not
The checker looks for words and phrases that appear often in unwanted email (offers, urgency, big claims, pushy calls to action), plus habits such as ALL CAPS, repeated punctuation, link shorteners and many links. Each finding adds to a rough 0–100 risk score. It is a simple guide made from a built-in list of about 130 phrases in English — it is not a real spam filter and cannot say whether a message will reach the inbox.
Modern filters (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and others) rely far more on whether your domain is properly authenticated (SPF, DKIM, DMARC — see the SPF & DMARC checker), your sending reputation, how recipients react and the quality of your list (clean email list). A single word such as “free” is fine in the right context; what matters is how many signals appear together. Also always include a working unsubscribe link in marketing email.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get to zero?
You do not need to. A score below 15 is usual for normal business email, and sometimes a flagged word is exactly what you need to say.
Does it check links and images?
It counts links and flags shorteners, but it cannot see images, reputation or authentication.
Is my text uploaded?
No. It is checked in your browser.
