Pressure Converter
Convert a pressure between psi, bar, kPa, atm, mmHg, inHg and torr — enter it in any one unit to see all the others.
How it is worked out
Every unit converts through the pascal (Pa): 1 atm = 101,325 Pa and 1 bar = 100,000 Pa, both exact by definition; 1 psi = 6,894.757293168 Pa (from the pound-force and inch); 1 mmHg (the "conventional millimetre of mercury") = 133.322387415 Pa, based on standard mercury density and gravity; 1 inHg = 25.4 × 1 mmHg. A torr is defined separately as exactly 1/760 atm = 133.3223684211 Pa — extremely close to, but not quite identical to, mmHg (they differ from the sixth significant figure), which this tool keeps distinct rather than treating as the same unit.
Source: SI/international definitions (atm and bar exact by definition; psi, mmHg and torr derived from their underlying defined quantities), consistent with NIST's published conversion factors.
