Payment Processing Fee Calculator
See how much a card processor takes from a transaction, and what you actually receive.
How this is calculated
Fee = transaction amount × percentage + fixed fee. Net received = transaction amount − fee. Effective rate = fee ÷ transaction amount, so you can compare processors fairly even when the fixed fee differs.
The preset rates are the standard online rates each processor lists for a UK merchant account, read directly from their own pricing pages and last verified 2026-10-08 — Stripe UK pricing (1.5% + £0.20 for UK-issued cards; 2.5% + £0.20 for EEA cards, plus a further 2% if currency conversion is needed) and PayPal UK merchant fees (2.9% + £0.30 for a standard domestic commercial transaction). These are example rates only, not a quote: both processors offer negotiated/volume pricing, charge extra for non-UK or non-EEA cards and currency conversion, and change their published rates from time to time — always check the processor's current page, and every field above is editable.
