Calories Burned Calculator
Pick an activity, enter your weight and how long you did it, and get an estimate of the calories burned.
For information only — not medical or dietary advice. These are population averages based on MET values. Your real energy use depends on fitness, body composition, technique and conditions, and can differ by 20% or more. Do not use the result to set a strict diet or exercise target; if you have a health condition, or are worried about your weight or eating, talk to your GP or a registered dietitian.
How the estimate works
A MET (metabolic equivalent) is how many times more energy an activity uses than sitting at rest. Calories burned ≈ MET × weight in kg × hours. For example a 75 kg person running at 6 mph (about 9.8 METs) for 30 minutes uses roughly 9.8 × 75 × 0.5 ≈ 368 kcal in total, including what the body would have burned at rest anyway.
MET values here are rounded from the Compendium of Physical Activities. The table shows the same duration for every activity so you can compare them.
